I love fruity, frou frou drinks but they are terrible for you. So I’m super excited to introduce this yumtastic, low cal option I created – The Royal Funtini, a light tropical cocktail. Why Royal, well I happen to be doing some research on Hawaii right now (long story) and I saw a billboard for a Hawaiian themed casino slot named Royal something or other on the way home yesterday. How’s that for blatent honesty?? Plus, really? Tropical martini? So bland. So overused.
Introducing the Royal Funtini, step by step
1. Put ice in shaker.
2. Pour in 1.5 oz. Bacardi Pineapple Coconut Rum and 1. 5 oz. Sprite Zero. Pour in half an ounce of pineapple orange juice. If you feel this is too strong, you can add more juice, but that also adds more calories. And when it’s stronger, you will probably only have one, two tops.
3. Put lid on shaker and shake shake shake!
4. Pour into a fun glass (go wild! I don’t care if it’s a plastic gas station cup, as long as it makes you happy).

Unfortunately, I know many people who have lost siblings, parents, spouses, fiances, etc. The death of Robin Williams brought this to the forefront for me. When I saw 89.7 the River had created a challenge to raise awareness about suicide prevention, I was in.

Most women I know fall into one of two camps regarding travel and beauty: the I'm taking a break from it ALL, including makeup, camp and the this is when I take lots of pictures, so I'm gonna make sure I look good camp. I fall into the second group. I love having no set schedule and having all the time in the world to try new looks and play with my beauty products. So ...
UPDATE: Unfortunately this show has been canceled. This was behind the control of Omaha Performing Arts.
So for those of you who don't blog, blogging is kind of it's own world. Mostly women, bloggers are a supportive, awesome, hilarious breed BUT many of them are mommies. That means we don't always have the same things talk about and sometimes I have ZERO clue (like this weekend when I asked WHAT is a splash pad?) So I'm ...
So, generally I use olive oil with balsamic vinegar, for salad, pasta, or panzanella (bread salad) - always with tomatoes and generally with basil. Usually I saute things in cooking spray, so not so much on the olive oil there. But last night, I had a sweet opportunity to hang out with some fellow Omaha bloggers and the geniuses at Chef2 at Midtown Crossing here in Omaha. Let's just saying I was not giving olive ...
Like many women, I constantly struggle with my weight. I’m still kind of vain, I want to look good, but the older I get the more health plays into it. Eating well just makes you feel better. Healthy habits bring more energy and less fatigue. Plus, a healthy weight, eating right, and fitness are great for your skin and hair! I am by no means perfect, but I’ll keep on trying, and here I’ll share stories on my journey, as well as any cool finds on health and fitness.
