I was wrong about the effectiveness of cold water washing, and as it turns out I was wrong about natural products too.
Thank you Birchbox, for re-informing me. I’d always felt like natural products could NOT be that effective, in part due to a couple crappy ones I tried, and in part due to sheer ignorance. Chemicals = strong = effective, right? Wrong.
As it turns out, just like mainstream products, some natural products are good, some are so-so, and some are worthless.
You know you have a good product on your hands when you feel absolutely crushed it’s gone. VMV Hypoallergenic Re-Everything Eye Serum came in my January box. After a few weeks of work, for the first time in a long time, this vegetarian,iron-deprived girl was not so worried about the deep purple circles under my eyes. A couple weeks later they were practically non-existent.
My faith renewed slightly, a whole new bevy of natural products came in my April box – Earth month has been very enlightening for me this year. (Better late than never, right?)
I loved one of these products so much – it went straight into my purse, a coveted spot if you’re a product in a product junkie’s world. Pangea Organics Lip Balm is heaven on the lips. I would normally never pay $12 for a lip balm, but for this one I would. In a heartbeat.
I also tried out the Pangea Organics Eye Cream. Yet another winner! I didn’t love quite as much as the VMV, but it felt better in firming. Everyone has different undereye issues and I tend to think I suffer from them all. So if your biggest problem is dark circles, go with the VMV; if it’s lack of firmness, go with the Pangea.
Finally, the Weleda Pomegranate Firming Day Cream made me feel like a kid again. It smelled like a combination between Fruity Pebbles (my favorite cereal, which I rarely allow myself to eat) and sunshine (or what I imagine sunshine would smell like.) It’s light, fruity, and effective. For me, it would not moisturize enough in the winter, but for spring it’s perfect.
I feel like a whole new world has opened up to me. Top among my list to try is Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist. It balances your pH and just seems so different from anything I’ve tried.
